Up at 5:30 am….weight at 135 lbs…I was good yesterday and dropped a pound.  Now to stay on the good path…..

Today is a school day….we’re going for the hour walk at 8:30 am on campus with the group….then the art class…lunch….and another art class.  Hoping to then stay for the travel speech on Madrid and Andorra.
Breakfast:  coffee, oats & applesause

Left at 7:45 am….arrived early for the twice weekly walk that they do around the campus through the arboretum.   Beautiful area…I haven’t been there for probably thirty years.  We did two loops before coming back to our OLLI area for coffee.

10 am our first art lecture began…Monet amd Degas

11:30 am…break for lunch on campus…I’d brought food with us.  We sat with a spry 89 year old woman who was a font of information.  She still sings in her church choir and moves back and forth between two daughters…one in Fullerton and one in Boston.  Has just recently stopped driving.  What a fireplug….told us she divorced her husband after thirty years of marriage because she found out he had a girlfriend.  She made the hour fly.
Lunch:  ½ banana, applesauce, tiny piece of chicken & another of cheese, granola bar snd water.

12:30 pm…our second art lecture began….Sargent, Manet, Seurat…they are recorded lectures and fabulous….we stop half way through and discuss what we’ve seen and then after the final one we have another discussion.

At 2 pm…Jim took off to go shopping and I went to the Travel Around the World session.  They had moved him to a classroom…no mike and seating was terrible.  So glad it was him and not me that got moved.  So different from the auditorium that I presented in.  The University had a special program and they have first dibs on the auditorium when they want it.

I had several people tell me that my presentation was so much better...made me feel good.  He basically did powerpoint but they were individual photos with titles at the top.  One neat thing that he did was when he talked about the Sophia Museum with Picasso’s Gunerica….he showed a YouTube about a student who had created a 3D effect for her master’s project.

It’s really interesting.

After class we drove to the shoe store and I returned the Croc’s shoes…they just didn’t fit very well…wish I could have gotten an 8.5….that would have fit.  I’ll keep looking.
Home by 4:30 pm…called Miss Betty on the way home.  Jim put a beer can chicken on the BBQ and baked some potatoes.  My dinner was a piece of chicken and a small baked potato with only pepper on it.  And a glass of wine.  Had some raisens and almond nuts later.  I was a good girl food wise.

Several calls with Betty and Mary this evening...I'm going to try to call her at least once a day...think I will try doing it every morning.

I watched 3 hours of Fox trying to find Amy (Miriam Brougher's daugher in NYC) who was on Fox Business News at 9 pm in NYC….never saw it but did enjoy watching Glee…haven’t seen it for a while.  To bed about 11:30pm after reading a chapter of my book.  Rained during the night and our drip is back.  Jim will have to work on it again after they finish painting.
