Up about 6 am…weight still at 135 lbs. Found a text from Mary…none from Shirley…but
then we sent several last night. Her
phone was off so left a message. Betty
is not answering her phone…I’m thinking the sound may be turned off.
Reading about Pope Francis; he visited with Benedict
today. FYI…he is not staying in the
papal apartments but in a hotel room in a hotel inside of the Vatican City;
probably Saint Martha. He says the papal
apartments are too large.
7:30 am…breakfast…oats & applesauce.
Spent most of day on computer
Lunch: about 1 pm…after
my 2 mile walk at noon by myself…Jim at Bowers…
Can’t remember…but I kept it light because of dinner out
tonight.
Showered about 2 and washed my hair…read my book for about
an hour in the afternoon.
St. Patrick’s Day party a week late….hostess was ill last
weekend. Smaller party because of change
of date but was lots of fun. They were
all people involved in the OLLI program that I’ve seen around campus and all
had seen my presentation and complimented me on it. There were eight of us, half the original
number. But we all dressed in green and
the dinner was corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, soda bread, carrots…then cake
& mint chip ice cream for dessert followed by Irish coffee…decalf….and
delicious. The host couple live over in
Fullerton not far from where Jim’s folks lived.
We arrived at 5:30 pm and left shortly after 9 pm. Everyone at the table has traveled
extensively so it was a lively group as we shared our travel stories.
To bed by 10:30 pm after reading a chapter of my book.
Tried all day to reach Betty....she finally called me during our dinner party...about 6 pm our time...she'd accidentally turned off her phone when she had it in bed with her. I talked with her for a couple of minutes. I think Mary had reached her to tell her the phone was off...she was excited that they were bringing over her new microwave on Sunday.
I heard today at church that the rumor is that Pope Francis is going to live at St. John Lateran...by the Holy Steps. Feels he'll be closer to the people there. I'm also his "friend" on Facebook now.
