Had the piano tuned yesterday...$85....but feel I need to do this once a year to keep it in good shape. While he had the front off I took some photos and notes. There is a lot of information on the guts .... a serial number...which we were able to look up thanks to a book that the piano tuner has...it was made between 1908 and 1909. There was a price tag affixed that stated the price was $850. That was a lot of money in 1909! From the records that I can find it would be about $3,000. today. It cost me about $2500. to have it restored back in 1987. It was made by Briggs Piano Company in Boston. Also it is a Grand Vertical with an Air Player. Very interesting. I've never paid any attention to him (the tuner) before...we've been having it tuned every year for that last ten years. Glad I took a look...I had no idea that that information was still inside.
Yesterday I took the time to copy all of the information stored in my Palm Pilot into word documents and erased everything I didn't need. Now...what do I do with the equipment??? I haven't used it for over a year. Think I'll call a real estate agent and see if they are even using these in the business anymore. If they are someone might like the charger base that connects to the computer. ???
I'm working on my Xmas card lists....I found them on sale already at Costco last week and picked up the cards....more than I needed....but wasn't sure at the time. Will have to take a box back but always grab them as soon as I see them as there are very few religious ones and they go fast.
I added a survey vote to my blog spot...will be interesting to see if any one does it...I did it but can only do it once....other than changing my vote!
It's 5 pm.....I've worked on cleaning the bathrooms....still not finished...Jim used his machine to clean the wood & tile floors....so much energy! I've been reading one of my new books that I picked up at the library yesterday...romance novel about the wild west....fun and mindless.
Just found Linda & Terry Trautman online so we talked for 1/2 hour on skype...fun. I still had this open when I saw they were online....had terrible time with feedback until I closed this out. Guess I should try to blog when I'm on Skype. Fun to talk with them....Terry has shaved off his beard.
Food this afternoon: meat & cheese, jello, ice cream, coolwhip, and a glass of white wine. I'll be lucky if I stay the same....I did write to Bonnie and gave her my link to this website.
