The telephone rang before 7:30 am...it was Barbara...she thinks her computer crashed. I'm sure it didn't but I really didn't want to drive to Newport today so I convinced her to drive to Yorba Linda.
We all got up...weight was at 132 lbs....surprising as I haven't been that good and I had a lot of bread yesterday. Mary, Tushar and I dove into the leftovers after we returned from church.
Barbara arrived before 8:30 am...we were still in our pajamas and just fixing breakfast. The computer problem...someone had removed the tape over her wireless connection.
I worked on cleaning up her emails....she, Mary & Tushar discussed wedding plans for several hours. She thought that February sounded great...but May really got her excited...in a moment of craziness said she'd pay for the wedding it they'd get married on her mother's birthday...a Friday...May 14th. Then they talked about some winery in Napa that has a table that seats 100 people....it was really a crazy morning. I'm calling the clubhouse every few minutes to check on the availability....they really like the clubhouse.
It would be so much easier to have the wedding here instead of San Francisco. I can't afford to provided transportation and rooms like I did for Jay's wedding. Not sure of exact date but thing they are having a civil wedding...asap...then looking at a wedding in May here in Yorba Linda. They are meeting today with Fr. Joe....
Tushar & Mary left at noon for an appointment with an eye surgeon that Barbara arranged by phone yesterday in Laguna Niguel...we later learned that he has an infection by alergies and she has given him medication. They may be staying longer so he can go back in a few days.
Barbara wanted to go to a deli in YL that she'd used years ago...yep...it changed hands in the last month and the food just wasn't the same. But we split a sandwich....then drove around her old neighborhood before heading back towards home along the new Bastanchury Road to see the new high school. I was happy we were headed home when she suddenly pulled into the shopping lot...she wanted to shop for clothes! By 2 pm I finally said I had to get home to start my meat for the dinner party...we'd set the table before leaving so she knew I was having guests.
Suddenly she was in my kitchen taking the pot roast and making sour brathen (german dish) with red wine vinigar and brown sugar. But it did taste good and she headed home.
Got the dinner ready...Mary & Tushar arrived home about 4 pm...the guests arrived at 5:15 and we had a good dinner and then a boat ride. Doing small talk afterwards and Joe and Laura arrived...they'd walked from home. While they were here Warren called on Joe's cell phone...didn't get to talk with him but heard the conversation....I has gotten one of the three boxes that I sent.
It was nearly midnight by the time I sat down to read a chapter in my book...got all of the dishes washed before going to bed. Jim helped.
