January 10, 2010

Here is a quote from a letter I sent to Mary & Tushar this morning that tells about yesterday:

Yesterday was a busy day....Joe & Corey came at 10 am and took down the rest of the lights outside for us; and took the three huge boxes of the tree to the attic...they wanted to take more but I said no as I like to do it slowly as I organize things. Joe said when hearing the news...."I would have gone"...but as I said to him "all 7 of you were there in spirit and the wedding is on May 14th"....it was good that even Jay was not there so they are all on equal ground in that department. Everyone loves the video...were you able to forward it to Ruby & Lincoln? I sent it to each of the aunts & uncles and also Carla. Is there anyone you'd like me to email it to directly? It takes 45 minutes for the email to send.

The program has the ability to create a DVD and they will do a professional one for $20. I'm going to get one to see what it is like. It comes in a case with photos on it....it will take 5 hours to download to their site...so it says....so I'm going to rest today and read my book while I do it as they said that I can't let my computer go to sleep during the process so I will have to sit with it to keep stirring the mouse!!!!!

I'll also do the photos today and get that in the mail to you. I'll also try to copy the file that they put on my hard drive to create a DVD and see what you can do with it. BUT, we will have to eventually take it off of the camera because we'll be taking it on the trip with Aunt Barbara in March.... I will also copy the individual clips and send those.

Then we ended the evening by attending a 61st birthday party for our neighbor Bill (the guitar man)...at Java Joe's. We stayed for one drink and the cake before heading home...about an hour. The music was very loud rock band.... definitely not your father's favorite...and we were both tired. I had walked 3 miles during the afternoon with my neighbor as a break from multiple trips up and down the stairs with boxes. I was TIRED ... Dad's leg is still bothering him...apparently he felt so good in San Francisco because he took one of those pain pills and didn't realize it until we got home and he counted the pills in the bottle. But...he gets better every day.

Well best close and get ready for church....

Here is a quote from an email that I received from Bonnie yesterday and today:

The photos are great but the video is fabulous!!!!!!! You'll have to tell me how to save it Martha. Jim since you will be otherwise occupied at the real wedding........how about if i come out in Feb to take lessons on how to use the video machine and then I'll be you substitute for the wedding......that way you won't have to think about it.

I've always wanted a video camera; we'll have to talk about models etc when you have the time........I remember the great shots you got on your trip in 2000..........see the architecture with them is really wonderful.......and catching the true expressions of people and their important events is priceless!

---------------------------------
The next time I get to Walmart,I'll check on them. Does Jim still use the one he took to Europe in 2000? It may be so outdated that he doesn't. It's amazing just how all of that technology changes. I do really remember the footage he took with it in Orieveto (sp?) of the interior of the cathedral. Do you guys ever look at that stuff any more? It should look great on a flat screened TV.

I' so glad that Mary bought more than one sari......the gold one was really a stunner and I'm certain that Ruby and Lincoln were so pleased to see her wear this for the civil ceremony. The one I saw in photos taken in India was a blue one. Hope she got a fuchsia one too as I think that color would be so beautiful on her with her dark hail and fair skin. When will she start looking for her wedding gown for May? That is such a special time....at least it was for me. I still have my gown and will never get rid of it. Wish we could both be in San Fran to go with her while she looks for it. Maybe we should do that in Feb. Probably the very last thing she would want! Has she started making up a wish list for wedding gifts. Be certain to tell her to think not about now ( because of limited space in a shared apartment) but about when she and Tushar will have a home. ........ just thought.........will she be taking his last name?..........and what is that?...........maybe she'll hyphenate. I did that when I was married to Ron and would have done it with Terry but he wouldn't hear of it..........does that surprise you? Now he doesn't care.......sometime we do grow and learn..........believe this or not he is starting go to church with me. Speaking of church.......I'd better go hop in the shower and get ready.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thought you'd enjoy all of that.....anyway...up at 7 am....weight is 134 lbs. DOWN a pound which is good. We're getting kitchen down to basic foods and that is good for both of us. Not bad for having a beer and birthday cake last night.

WATCH THE NEWSPAPER for a teaser of the Irish Blog by Joan. I will start the blog tomorrow...
