Up about 7:30 am...Jim has taken the car to Corona for service...the yellow light was on for the last couple of days. Weight was at 136 lbs this morning....it's been at 137 for over a week so was glad to see the drop. Food wise I've been pretty good so not sure just why I was stuck.

Yesterday was a trip to Big Bear....got to the base of the mountain and the road was closed...they had a single car accident about 7 am...4 people hit ice and went off the road...hit a tree and two of the four died...the other two had to be cut out....bottom line ... the road was closed until 1 pm. Turned around ...drive back to the Freeway and went to highway 18...the old road to Big Bear past Lake Arrowhead....the shorter version of highway 330 will be closed for at least a year to repair the stretch that fell into the valley...so it was a three hour drive plus.

Weather was beautiful...sunshine....snow along the road was very dirty...they need new snow...skiing is great as nights are cold enough and dry enough to make snow every night. Restocked the paper supplies...checked the place....double bed upstairs...kids must have been jumping on it...frame wasn't broken, had just come apart, but the box spring frame was broken in two places. Put the frame back together and it will work for awhile...actually I'd like to get rid of that and put the trundle beds out instead....also a broken barrel chair..so put that out for the trash man...someone will probably pick it up before the trash man arrives next Monday.

Arrived home about 4 pm and spent an hour on Skype with my new student...a friend of one of Jim's docents...I'm helping her set up a blog. On Monday I had her go purchase a webcam and get that set up. On Tuesday we set up her Skype...now we talk on Skype as we work on the computers....On Wednesday we set up Picasa 3 for her. Last night we did a practice blog...she is amazed at how easy it is. Our next class will be on Friday....

She's a very nice lady...has a bit of an accent... Spanish I think......one interesting thing is she has a friend in Spain who has been after her to get Skype so that they can talk. On Tuesday she sent her an email and on Wednesday they talked for the first time. Her friend doesn't have a webcam yet but she was very excited about reconnecting with this old friend from years ago. So it's lots of fun for me.

I met her at the Christmas boat parade party...she came with Jim's docent family and we got to talking about blogging. I told her I would help her after the holidays.

After that I started working on the Library issues. After several false tries I have managed to download two audio books to my IPod......the trick I found was after I connect my IPod....I turn off ITunes and then let the book program find it on it's own???? But it works and I can now listen to free books on my IPod. One bad thing as you are limited to 5 electronic books at a time and I already have 3 of them...and they don't expire until I'm gone. There is no way to return them early. So...I'm going to wait until just before I leave and add the last two to my Reader.

I'm going to pick up some of the Playaway books to bring with me and leave my IPod at home.

It's nine and I need to call Carolyn about the gym and then eat a banana for breakfast.
