Up about 6:30 am...weight...unbelievably was at 128 lbs....I've been there for several days now but last night was the family dinner with Russ and I fully expected to be up at least a pound this morning. We had steak, french fries, artichoke dipped in butter and then dessert of ice cream, strawberries and whipped cream while watching the movie: Plant of the Apes.
It was a good evening...off to a rocky start. Jim arrived home from a day at Bowers and really wanted to just sit and read his papers. I was having trouble finding information about the length of time to cook the artichokes...and pushing him to get the steaks on, etc.
Kids arrived about 4:45 pm....Jim got the steaks done right at 5 but the artichokes were not done. So we sent Anthony, Ben and Katie out for a short boat ride (they were itching to go). I finally remembered that I should have cut the tops off ... I did the bottoms but not the tops...so that they would cook faster. We ended up eating the steaks and fries and then finished the meal with the artichokes. No ... Russ and Anthony didn't eat them but everyone else enjoyed their vegetable. We used to make them all the time when we had Ben and Katie for dinner. It's been a while since that happened. But it was fun and we easily fit around the dinning room table.
Orginally they were only staying until 7 pm but their other activity canceled so they stayed longer. I said I'd picked up a DVD for Jim on my walk and they all wanted to watch the movie. The kids headed back to the lake after dinner and missed half of the movie.
But they had fun on the lake...stayed out for over an hour in the dark...didn't want to come in they said and it worked great for the rest of us. All in all a fun evening.
Today we are heading to San Diego...need to arrive at 3 pm. Plan to leave early and visit the park that Carolyn showed me. Weather should be great...overcast right now but supposed to be in the high 70's. It was 85 degrees yesterday. Crazy weather.
Exercise....I've been walking four miles nearly every day. Most of the time I split it into two walks and Jim does one of them with me. Yesterday I only did two and walked to the store and "shopped" while I walked.
Did you see the monster rock we visited on Facebook? It was fun to go out to discover something different. Then we stopped at Wal-Mart on the way home for "shopping"...didn't buy much as we'd not planned to go there. Stopped at the library to pick up a book I'd ordered. Then to two grocery stores to purchased on Sunday dinner foods. Jim found good steak on sale at Von's for 50% discount. We bought extra and froze some of it.
Have a good day....and I did call Shirley yesterday also. Will try to call Betty this week.
