Weight is the same but I think we're pretty ready for the party. Jim finished the outside and I finished the inside about 4 pm. Took showers and we're waiting for Jay and Crew to arrive...it's 5 pm and them just called from the airport...they've got their rental car and are hitting the freeway.

Mary & Tushar left about 10 am for Barbara's. We hear he's already broken a dish that belonged to Jim's mother....this may be the last time Barbara offers guest services. Also....her Mexican boy that went to Spain with us has finally called it quits with her. I think he's tired of doing all her chores for minimum wage. She has him running errands to stores, doing laundry, wrapping gifts, buying Christmas trees. He has a live in girlfriend and I think she'd be tired of what he is doing for her also. I hope it is for good and I think it will be good for her.

She told her sons that they each needed to take out a mortgage on their houses as she needed money out of them so that she can move out of her house into something of comparable value. I don't see that happening any time soon. We just listen and smile when she gets going.

John may be released sometime next week and then it will be the two of them. Will be interesting to see how long he goes without the liquor.

I found two things while I was cleaning...the box with my second pair of black tennis shoes...they're brand new and that's what I'm taking to France. Also...I finally found the missing earring to my favorite pair of gold ones that I wear all the time. It was on the floor tucked under the cabinet in my bathroom. I had kept the other one and have been looking to replace them but hadn't found anything. Pays to clean house!

Tonight we have 17 meeting us at Joaquins for dinner...today is Jay's 48th birthday and he asked if we could do this. Will be a sizable tab but the kids have been taking us out for dinner more often than not so it's good to do this. Kelly has other plans but Jenn is coming. Russ & family except for Anthony, all of Wendy's family, Joe & Laura and Jay's Crew. Will be 17 of us. Nice that he chose an inexpensive place.

I've picked up Eggnog and ice cream for them to have afterwards at the house. We're heading over to the neighbors for the GNO annual Christmas party...it starts at 7 and is a dinner but they know that we'll be late and only coming for dessert. Hoping that some of them come back to the house to visit and Jay also has a good friend from his Disneyland days coming over this evening.

Tomorrow morning Holly & Lily are heading into LA to the American Girl Store. Jay, Tom & Jenn are riding with Wendy to Jason's for Kayla's first birthday party...over an hour of driving each way. Jim and I are attending a funeral service for a fellow who taught with Jim at Troy in the morning and then we'll go to Costco for the last items. The house is pretty good except for picking up in the afternoon.

I'm fixing a big pot of meatballs, putting out lots of nibblies and will set up the bar. So nice to know that they weather will be great ... a bit cool but otherwise great. Thelma is coming so will have to watch for her and save her a parking place. Remember Paul Curran...Laura's younger brother...is wife has a brain tumor....no sure how bad but nothing could be very good about it. They have five children. So sad. Laura will have more news for us tomorrow.

Well....time to move on...hope you enjoyed the blog about the Christmas lights...I got 141 hits per the weekly report.
