today: 136 lbs...sticking to my low carbs plan
bkf: small banana, flaxseed, hard boiled egg, 1 coffee
The past 3 days I've been very good with mostly meats & cheese...slicing it thin...some nuts and an apple each day. Jello (sugar free) helps.
Monday 8/24: cleaned the house top to bottom in morning...lightly except for bathrooms that I gave a throughal scrub. Jim vacumned for me. Read my Julia Child's book....no walking, but stuck to my low carb diet & dropped 2 pounds.
Tuesday 8/25: left for the St. Jude Hospital at 5:30 am with Jim. Took my netbook to work on and found that they had free wireless. Great...made some phone calls to lenders regarding our new loan and the question about who is servicing the loan??? We've heard from RoundPoint Mortgage...a formal letter...but after being on hold for 45 minutes...thank goodness for Skype...Taylor Bean said that Cenlar was our new lender. Called Brian Zwick and faced him the RoundPoint letter....he said to do nothing until we're sure.
Jim was put under at 8 am, they shocked his heart (yes, he has a burn on his back where they did it) but for the first time in about 6 months....he has a regular heart beat. At 10 am the doctor released him. Stopped at the 99 cent store on the way home. Funny thing, right after that we were headed east on YL blvd....and I automatically swung into the Torida Way street without thinking....wow....and we haven't lived there for 20 years! Odd.
We spent a quiet day, read books, etc. didn't walk again. But stayed withmy low carbs and lost another pound. About 3 pm....Jim's computer started going crazy....it was invaded with worms. I turned it completely off and was very happy that non of the other computers were on because I was busy reading. Called Russ...too busy tonight so I called Linda. She came over and worked on our computers until 6:30 installing a cleanup program called Spybot....found lots of stuff in Jim's computer. I installed it in 2 of the laptops....they seem to be okay. Katie came over and she and Linda ate pizza at our house before heading home with some extra unbaked pizzas for the boys.
Wednesday: Woke early...down to 137 lbs. We walked 2 miles this morning around the lake after I worked on loading the Spybot.com into my desktop...found lots of things to delete.
About 11 am I went down to Barbaras for a couple of hours. She seems much better and has finally started on her repair and remodeling work in her house....that is a good sign. We worked on her computer ... they were busy installing cables to their new tv in the bedroom, painting her bathroom and putting a new shower & sinks into the guest bathroom upstairs.
On the way home I noticed we have fires in the Angeles Crest .... very hot weather...around 100 degrees. Decided to watch our movie from Blockbuster...American In Paris....during this Derek and Greg (my nephew & friend) stopped by to visit. They are here working on their new business...a hair product from Brazil....seems to be doing well.
I worked all evening on installing a printer connection for my new netbook....finally gave up when we discovered we had a water leak. We quickly took showers, filled the tub in the hall bathroom and all the water pitchers we have before turning off the water. Still flowed all night under the new air conditioner....Luis helped but still didn't get it turned all the way off. We thought it might be an old pipe for the association back when this was a model....Jim was up and down all night...not good for his heart. About 7 am he called the assoication...by 8 the head landscaping man arrived with 2 helpers and they dug around a bit....then worked on the turn off valve....they finally got it closed...yes ... it's our water system not theirs. $15 was well worth it.
Canceled the request to the water company and now working through the plumber Steve to find someone who works on irregation.
Best of all....I found Russ's instruction from putting the drivers into my Sony Netbook...following these I downloaded the drivers and volla....I now have the printer network driver for my new Acer Netbook.
Thanks so much for sharing with me... fun to read. Shirley wanted to eat out tonight but I talked her into coming back to the house so I can eat out of my bag..Hugs
