Thursday September 9th

Up about 6 am, Jim and & both went for our quarterly blood test....long lines...we were there for an hour. Yesterday I went to the gym and did 1/2 hour on the machine. We're going again on Friday. I need to get into a routine again. Jim walked for an hour in the hills and felt good about it.

Last night we went to Westmorelands for dinner....had a good time. Showed my two 30 minute movies on their tv using the flip camera and then about 500 photos in a slide show on my larger laptop....went well...it was nice of them to ask to see our photos. To get 500 photos I cut down on the one that I sent to you last week.

At 10:30 today we're heading over to Long Beach for lunch....the one from Tuesday....and then I have GNO tonight on the street....busy day.

Is anyone doing anything special for Betty's 85 birthday tomorrow? Hard to believe she will be that old. Jenn is having a party tomorrow for Alyssa....early birthday and going away party. She leaves on Monday 13th for a month of training in Georgia and then on to Germany for a year of Missionary Work with the Catholic Church.

At the lab this morning Jim read some of my new book: Stolen Figs; and is looking forward to reading it when I'm done. Really good and easy reading. Another reporter who has written a book about travel experiences in the south of Italy....the boot....where his grandparents were raised before they immigrated to America.
